Vanishing acts

February 9, 2008

The second day in perth. I took a bus which brings me to canning bridge train station. From there, i took a train ride to perth city. It was all shopping area and i was not in the mood so i decided to hop onto another train to go to Fremantle instead. It was much better, looking at the Indian ocean on the train, i heard passengers saying “wow beatutiful and stuff.” i was amaze by the beauty of it too. But a question came to my mind on the judgement of beauty. What is it that makes up beauty? Is that the colors, the weather, the place? I guess it is the mood of the person. Like i was there looking over at the ocean, but something in me felt missing.I soon reach Fremantle. Got of the train and took a map and navigate myself around the place. The place was familiar to me as i could remember coming here during the JC perth trip. The Fremantle market has handicrafts and many little souvenirs but i did not get anything considering the fact that i don’t feel like a tourist at all. It was not crowded although it is Saturday. I went back to perth city and walk around. Today’s trip was quite aimless. I entered Borders book store and happened to pick up this book “vanishing acts”. I read the quote written on the fifth page of the book.” I think it is love. The more you love the memory, the stronger and stranger it becomes”It strikes me directly. It seems to be hinting to me something. The script on burying memory that i was trying to write was stuck for months. There is something i ought to find but i have no clue on what is it. I found myself unable to get to the mood of exploring the city. So i decided to go back to the supermarket next to my hostel and get some food. I bought bread and stuffs for making sandwiches. I guess that is the cheapest to fill up my stomach here. When i got back to my hostel, i was expecting some people to have move in as i saw quite a number of international student shopping for their daily necessities. But the hostel was still empty. Tomorrow will be a beautiful day.
